NIDO represented Nigeria at the Korea–Africa Day Festival in Seoul, alongside the Nigerian Embassy and the Korea–Africa Foundation.
In 2026, NIDO South Korea proudly represented Nigeria at the Korea–Africa Day Festival in Seoul — a vibrant celebration of African culture, heritage and the growing friendship between Africa and the Republic of Korea.
Flying the Nigerian flag
Against the festival's "Africa Day 2026" backdrop, members of the Nigerian community came together in full traditional splendour, the national flag held high. For a diaspora community, moments like these matter: they put Nigeria's culture, colour and warmth on a public stage, and they remind everyone — Nigerians and Koreans alike — of the depth of what our community brings to Korea.
In good company
NIDO South Korea's President, Anthony C. Achusim, was joined by the Nigerian Embassy's Chargé d'Affaires, H.E. Inex Omamoke, and the President of the Korea–Africa Foundation, Kim Young-Chae. Their presence side by side — Nigerian attire beside the Korean hanbok — captured exactly what the festival is about: two cultures meeting in mutual respect and celebration.
Culture as diplomacy
Events like Korea–Africa Day are more than festivals. They are a form of diplomacy, building the relationships and goodwill that make life better for Nigerians in Korea and that strengthen ties between our two nations. NIDO South Korea was honoured to play its part. The gallery below shares some of the colour and joy of the day.
